I want you to visualize your life. How is it? You may take it for granted to be honest, maybe you don’t care for the “happy life” home you have. Where a loving family feeds, clothes, and shelters you. Where you get a good education, complain about the food you have for lunch, and take long quizzes and tests. Now you can’t tell me that not once in your life you have never taken any of these things for granted? Now I can tell that there are MILLIONS of people that wish to have your life! You are very, VERY lucky to have the life you live. Now, there’s no possible way to write down all of the world’s problems into one article. So I’m just going to inform you about the few monstrosities humanity has. So much of the pain in this world has been caused by us. And I think it’s about time we speak up and challenge the horrors we have made. We don’t have to ignore them, or feel sorry about what we have done. So this article will be here to show you a few problems in the world and ways we can help. Because the world wants to hide what they have done. They want us to believe that “monsters” are just fictional things in “scary” stories. However, the real monsters on this planet are us, and the true horror is happening all around you…
How we effect nature
There is an amazing world around you. If you were away from your phone and outside, you could see all the astounding life! The blue skies, the small creatures, the trees and flowers. Nevertheless, due to our species carelessness, this environment around us is crumbling. As humans focus more on technology we are losing sight of the world around us. There is even proof that the jobs that are made to help and study the world is much slimmer and is declining, as more technology and STEM related jobs grow. As stated from virtual jobshadow.com “Employment of zoologists and wildlife biologists is projected to grow 4 percent from 2014 to 2024, slower than the average for all occupations.” Even their pay is lower than most jobs with engineering. Jobshadow.com says that zoologist and wildlife biologist get paid $58,270 as the median wage. But for somebody like a software engineer they get paid $95,510! This shows further more how humans are advancing more and more into technology and forgetting about nature. Besides that, many other actions of our doing has harmed many other animals! According to wwf.panda.org they state “Habitat loss poses the greatest threat to species. The world's forests, swamps, plains, lakes, and other habitats continue to disappear as they are harvested for human consumption and cleared to make way for agriculture, housing, roads, pipelines and the other hallmarks of industrial development.” This shows some of the ways humans are driving out and killing off species. But is this the end for these animals? No, there ARE ways you can help! www.conserve-energy-future.com states “We can combat habitat loss by preserving natural resources and learning how to use them in a way that does not require such frequent destruction of habitats.” Another way to help is to speak up and tell others about this problem, there are even organizations that are trying to bring people together and help endangered animals. Such as the ugly animal preservation society. (Yes, this is a real thing) they tell others about not so pretty animals, that world seems to forget about. However, it is not just animals that need our help, the world its self is being treated like trash. People litter and pollute and this is affecting the world negatively, lets come together and help clean up this world. Some ways you can help the world is by recycling, reducing trash, and reusing old things. In addition, you can even go around the neighborhood and pick up trash! Rember, you live on this earth too! So help clean it up.
Bullying
Now we have all learned about bullies in school but do you really understand the impact a bully can have on somebody? It is not just the victim who is being affected, everybody near or around the bully is harmed. According to www.stopbullying.gov they state “bullied (referring to the victims of a bully) are more likely to experience depression and anxiety, increased feelings of sadness and loneliness, changes in sleep and eating patterns, and loss of interest in activities they used to enjoy. These issues may persist into adulthood. Health complaints, Decreased academic achievement—GPA and standardized test scores—and school participation. They are more likely to miss, skip, or drop out of school.” Some of those effects will last them through their adult hood! Imagine always being depressed even when you are an adult because of a person who made you that way? Imagine how it must feel too lose lack of interest, even as you are an adult! However, it’s not just the victim, the bully is hurt too. As stated from www.stopbullying.gov “Kids who bully others can also engage in violent and other risky behaviors into adulthood. Kids who bully are more likely to abuse alcohol and other drugs in adolescence and as adults, get into fights, vandalize property, and drop out of school, have criminal convictions and traffic citations as adults, be abusive toward their romantic partners, spouses, or children as adults.” Bullying is a serious problem in the world and its hurts a lot of people! In addition, there is more bullies than you think. www.stopbullying.gov states “28% of U.S. students in grades 6–12 experienced bullying. And 20% of U.S. students in grades 9–12 experienced bullying.” Middle school through 12th grade people experice bullying, and that’s a lot. But you can help stop this! As a by-stander, you can report the bullying you see to help the victim and to put the bully in their place. As a victim, you can speak up! Don’t ever suffer in silence, speak up and help stop bullies in their tracks. And if you are a bully ask yourself, is it really worth it? What will bullying somebody else benefit for me?
Poverty in U.S.A
No matter where you go, there will be poverty somewhere. As you sleep in your comfortable bed, there are people sleeping on benches. While you eat your tasty pop-up toaster waffles, there are people eating from trashcans. There are many people on this planet that just can afford a house or rental, clothes, or even food. In addition, it is even worse for those that have hungry children that they also have to care for. Moreover, some people just do not care for them, or they ignore the fact of their appearance in the world. According to www.worldhunger.org they state, “In 2015 there were 43.1 million people in poverty, 3.5 million less than in 2014.” There are still MANY people in poverty, but due to sites like this, people are able to find out about this problem and help. However, this is only the surface of poverty in the USA. Let us look at the statistics first. “The 2015 poverty rate for Blacks was 24.1 (down from 26.2 percent in 2014), for Hispanics 21.4 (down from 23.6 percent in 2014), and for Asians 11.4 percent (not statistically different from 2014). For non-Hispanic whites the poverty rate was 9.1 percent.” Though this is just for the races of people, what about children? “The poverty rate for children under 18 was 19.7 percent in 2015, down from 21.1 percent in 2014 and the number of children in poverty was 14.5 million. 19.4 million Americans live in extreme poverty.” There are so many people in poverty, but if we speak up about this problem, we can help make a change. That is why schools do food drive and people volunteer to help hungry families. You can go out and help too!
In conclusion, the world has many problems, and yes some of them our out of our handle. However, the problems that we CAN solve need to be solved! If we SPEAK UP and make a difference, we can solve the mistakes society tries to hide from us. We can all come to ge19.4 million Americans live in extreme poverty. This means their family’s cash income is less than half of the poverty line, or about $10,000 a year for a family of four. There and help fix this broken world, as long as we speak up we can make a change! Fight back the enemies. Since the true enemy in this world is our selves...
